How it shows up

Emotional distress, whether it’s anxiety, a specific fear, or the lingering charge from a difficult experience, often has a physical, felt quality to it: tightness, a racing heart, or a sense of being “activated” that logic alone doesn’t calm down. Some clients want an approach that works with that physical, sensory experience directly, rather than only talking through it.

How hypnotherapy helps

BAUD (Bio-Acoustical Utilization Device) Sound Therapy uses a specific auditory tone, adjusted in real time to your response, to help calm the nervous system’s reaction to a distressing thought or memory. As you focus on the issue while listening to the tone, the emotional intensity tends to decrease, often within the same session.

Pattie offers BAUD as one of the modalities in her practice, either as a standalone session or alongside hypnosis, depending on what best fits the issue you’re working through.

What a session looks like

Every new client starts with a free 20-minute consultation, in person at Pattie’s Scottsdale office or by phone or Zoom, to talk through what you’re hoping to address and whether BAUD is a good fit. From there, sessions run $150 each.

Is BAUD painful or invasive? No. It’s a gentle, non-invasive approach using sound frequency; there’s no physical discomfort involved.

Do I need to talk through the details of what’s bothering me? Not in depth. BAUD works with your response to the tone as you hold the issue in mind, which means you don’t need to verbally relive every detail.
