Hypnosis for Children
Kids don't always have the words for what they're feeling. The Blowaway Technique gives them a gentle, age-appropriate way to work through it.
How it shows up
Children and teenagers can struggle with low self-esteem, lack of confidence, irrational fears, anxiety, habits that risk carrying into adulthood, eating issues, or big emotional reactions like tantrums or attitude changes that are hard for parents to manage. Kids don’t always have the vocabulary or emotional tools to process what’s bothering them, so it often comes out sideways, as a behavior problem, a physical symptom, or withdrawal.
How hypnotherapy helps
Pattie developed the Blowaway Technique specifically for children’s issues: a gentle, unobtrusive approach that helps kids deal with inner anxieties affecting their behavior, habits, fears, and emotions. Every session uses child-friendly language and metaphors that match how kids actually think, so the process feels safe and understandable rather than clinical or intimidating.
Children must be at least seven years old, able to hold reasonable attention through a session, and are always accompanied by at least one parent or guardian throughout. Building trust and rapport with the child comes first; the technique only works when the child feels genuinely safe.
Common issues Pattie helps with include general anxiety and worry, hair pulling, eating and sleeping problems, bedwetting, aggressive behavior, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, nightmares, skin problems related to stress, and phobias. This isn’t an exhaustive list.
What a session looks like
Every new family starts with a consultation to talk through your child’s specific situation. From there, sessions run $150 each, always with a parent or guardian present.
Common questions
How young can a child be for this? Children must be at least seven years old and able to hold a reasonable attention span for the session.
Do I need to stay in the room during the session? Yes. A parent or guardian is present at all times during sessions with children.
What if my child’s issue isn’t on the list above? Reach out anyway. The list isn’t exhaustive, and Pattie is happy to discuss whether the Blowaway Technique fits your child’s specific situation.
