Hypnosis for Pain

Stress and anxiety can amplify how pain feels. Hypnosis works with the mind-body connection to help ease that response.

The shape of the work

What working together changes

What it feels like now

  • The pattern runs on autopilot — it fires before you decide.
  • Willpower alone hasn't held.
  • It keeps pulling you back, even when you know better.

What changes

  • You start to understand what's actually driving it.
  • New responses begin to become the default.
  • A plan you can practice between sessions.

Everyone's work is different — this is the shape of the work together, not a promise of a particular result.

How it shows up

Pain and stress often feed each other: stress and anxiety are common side effects of dealing with pain, and that stress response can make the sensation of pain feel even more intense. Because the way your mind perceives pain is closely linked to how your body experiences it physically, addressing the mental and emotional side can make a real difference in how pain feels day to day.

How hypnotherapy helps

During hypnosis, you focus on relaxation and letting go of distracting or anxious thoughts. From that relaxed state, Pattie can offer suggestions aimed at pain relief, along with post-hypnotic suggestions you can use on your own between sessions. Clients receive a customized session recording to reinforce the subconscious mind’s work in between appointments.

The goal isn’t to convince you your pain doesn’t exist. It’s to help manage the fear and anxiety that often make pain harder to cope with, and to refocus your mind away from the pain using positive visualization, imagining a calm, familiar place instead of dwelling on the discomfort. Pattie works with all types of pain management and receives referrals from doctors across a range of specialties.

What a session looks like

Every new client starts with a consultation to discuss your specific pain and history. From there, sessions run $150 each, typically over a course of about 3 to 6 sessions depending on your individual circumstances.

Common questions

Is this a replacement for medical treatment? No. Hypnosis for pain works alongside medical care, not in place of it; many clients come to Pattie through referrals from their doctors.

How many sessions will I need? It varies by individual, but hypnosis for pain typically requires around 3 to 6 sessions.

What will I actually experience during a session? A relaxed, guided state focused on letting go of distracting thoughts, with suggestions aimed at reducing pain perception and calming the stress response around it.
