Stress is your body’s natural fight-flight-freeze response, and in small doses it can actually help you rise to a challenge. It becomes a problem when life keeps stacking triggers faster than you can recover — things like loss, divorce, illness, moving, a new job, or money worries. Common signs include:

  • Getting irritated easily
  • Worrying about being judged or criticized
  • Nail biting
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Drinking or smoking more than usual
  • Difficulty concentrating

Everyone has a different tolerance for stress, shaped by personality, upbringing, and how well-developed their coping skills are. The real problem starts when you’re constantly running near your limit — at that point, it doesn’t take much to tip you over into feeling overwhelmed.

How hypnotherapy helps

A lot of your stress response comes down to perspective — how your mind interprets a situation, not just the situation itself. Hypnotherapy works with that perspective directly. Using clinical hypnosis alongside CBT and NLP, Pattie helps you shift how you process stressful triggers, so the same event doesn’t automatically send you into overdrive.

Is stress the same as anxiety? They’re related but not identical — stress is usually tied to an external trigger, while anxiety can persist even without one. Both can benefit from the same underlying work.

Can hypnotherapy stop stress from happening? No — some stress is a normal part of life. The goal is to change how much of an impact it has on you.

How many sessions does this take? It depends on how long the pattern has been building and how ready you are to work on it. Pattie will give you an honest read after your consultation.
